AWWI Friend Clean Line Energy Partners Invests in the Future

AWWI talked with Jimmy Glotfelty, co-founder of Clean Line Energy Partners, following an interview on E&E TV about his company’s investments in transmission lines to bring large amounts of wind power from windy states to power-hungry markets in the East and in California. Glotfelty noted that Clean Line is a company that takes the long view, and is an enthusiastic supporter of AWWI’s mission and its focus on providing the data and the tools that help the industry continue to develop a more strategic approach to siting and development of the wind energy resources available across the country.

We think AWWI is a great organization and is on the leading edge of helping solve relevant issues and devising effective partnerships,” said Glotfelty. “At Clean Line, we try to be a thought leader and an action leader, and we are delighted to work with AWWI to lead on these issues, to go above and beyond.

As we continue to grow, we will be learning more and learning how to apply that new knowledge when we site transmission projects and build out wind power. At Clean Line we take all issues to heart, and we partner with conservation organizations and agencies as we plan where and how to site our transmission lines. For example, we work with The Nature Conservancy on several of our projects and just recently teamed up with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to minimize impacts to the lesser prairie chicken.”

The interview with E&E TV, in which Glotfelty discusses the future of transmission and wind energy, can be viewed here.
