AWWI Releases Enabling Progress - Compensatory Mitigation for Wind Energy projects in the United States

AWWI’s initiatives address research and tools to address wind/wildlife impacts. One of our initiatives is to be leaders in addressing mitigation of unavoidable impacts to wildlife and habitat. To inform this discussion the American Wind Wildlife Institute (AWWI) commissioned, Enabling Progress, prepared by Solano Partners, Inc. The report provides a review of current wildlife related mitigation practices employed in the United States and how those practices might relate to future wind energy development. The report also discusses where opportunities exist for developing a mitigation framework tailored to wind energy development.
