Women of Wind Energy bestows Abby Arnold with its 2010 Woman of the Year Honor

AWWI's very own Abby Arnold was presented with the 2010 Woman of the Year award from Women of Wind Energy (WOWE) at their luncheon in Dallas on May 26th during the AWEA WINDPOWER conference.

As Executive Director of the American Wind Wildlife Institute, Ms. Arnold has emphasized the need for better technical and scientific information to assist in the siting of wind energy projects. 

In addition, Ms. Arnold has advanced industry and other wind energy stakeholder goals, dialogue and understanding through managing and facilitating wind energy collaboratives, committees, commissions and boards.  From her management for over seventeen years of the National Wind Coordinating Collaborative to her successful mediation of the Secretary of the Interior's Wind Turbines Advisory Committee Recommendations for Siting Wind Facilities, Ms. Arnold's exhibited leadership and vision.  Ms. Arnold is also heavily involved with the development of habitat conservation plans and other wind-wildlife, transmission, and resources forums.
