AWWI Director of Research and Evaluation, Dr. Judd Howell, Presents at AWEA Siting Workshop on February 18 in Denver
AWWI received excellent exposure during the AWEA Siting Workshop on February 17-18 in Denver before more than 250 stakeholders from the wind industry community, Federal and State wildlife agencies, non-governmental organizations, consultants and members of the public.
Dr. Judd Howell presented AWWI’s research vision and plans for the development of a Research Information System (RIS, often termed a wildlife data repository) during the Wildlife Conservation session; Ridgeline Energy’s Vice President, Rich Rayhill, highlighted AWWI’s critical role in developing the RIS during his presentation on the Federal Advisory Committee; and AWEA President, Denise Bode, mentioned AWWI’s importance during the Workshop’s opening session. The takeaway is that wildlife issues are increasingly important to wind industry stakeholders and awareness of AWWI and the value AWWI offers is growing.
